Jamestown Cottage is situated within the village of Willoughby the birth place and childhood home of Captain John Smith, the first governor of the state of Virginia USA, with the help of the Local Chief's daughter Pocohontis he made Jamestown, one of the first settlements in the new world a success.
He is commemorated in our lovely village church, where he was christened, and which you have a view of from the window of Jamestown Cottage.
The Village is on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds with some spectacular scenery just a short distance away, walking and cycling routes start directly from the Cottage, the Coast with its beatiful golden sandy beaches are a short drive, and the wonderful market towns on the Wolds which still hold their market days, with their unique shops, tea rooms and old world inns, which are not to be missed.
Lincolnshire has so much to offer the visitor, history, beautiful scenery, quite county lanes, long empty beaches, also lively coastal centres and towns, so there is something for everyone here.... and with Jamestown Cottage offering you every amenity for your comfort and ease, you have just got to give it a try, even if its a short break to recharge those batteries.
